Red Nail Polish LOVE!

I'm always searching for the most perfect classy glam red nail polishes and lipsticks!!
Here is my current favorite! Thank you to Florence!
OPI : Danke Shiny Red
In person it has this depth and richness - which stays bright and beautiful - not orange or pink!
 -
Usually I stick with Chanel nail polishes for the quality of color- but OPI has impressed me with this one!
Any favorite fall colors or reds you ladies love?

  1. Oooo...pretty color! Will borrow it from you when I go to get my nails done. Got a mani/pedi gift certificate for my birthday. :D I hate painting red on my nails myself, because I always seemed to mess it up. I will let the professionals do it for me.

I usually paint my own toenails. That's the hidden perk of being a yogi! I can put my toes right in front of my face and paint it pretty. :) Usually, I am a "french manicure" girl. But this summer has seen a riot of colors on my toes. From yellows, to oranges, to pinks. Aqua too! I did all shades of blues all year long, a few years ago. ;P

I stopped painting my fingernails since I started yoga, about 10 years ago. Don't know why...but my toenails have always been adorned with french or colors. I guessed that since we are always looking at our feet and grabbing our toes in class, I just like to see them painted! :)

Opi is always the brand that I used. Good quality at a reasonable price. Sorry Minda, not much help in the shades of red. Perhaps the other girls will have a better input.

  2. WOW you are brave with the oranges and yellows!!! I keep to pinks and reds - went all wild with a gold this summer LOL OooOoOo.
I've been looking on pintrest and seeing all of these amazing fun nail ideas! I could never do it myself. ONe hand would be immaculate and the other hand looks like a 4 year old with finger paints LOL.

Looking forward to my mailbox - my Sister is sending me a NLT that she had gotten in the wrong size- hah works for me though its my size!!! so we traded because I listened to suggestion to size down for that top and ended up with HER size. BLAM! we both win! and they are both concord grape!

Did you see pics of that woman in the very dark purple? is that a new purple? its almost an eggplant - looks close to concord in the photo.

    ok talk to you soon!

  3. OMG girls!!! Dibs on this color! It's the Serenity Sweater in Bordeaux Drama. I have not seen this color in person, but from all the chatter, it is very similar to the deep plum of a year or two ago. I have a Push Ur Limit and the Scoop Neck in the deep plum. A very elegant color for fall/winter. This color has no blue base, but red. At least that what I think it is.

  4. Hi Ladies....
Yogibabe, sorry I am just getting back to you on the turbo. I missed out on last year's turbo. To give an idea....I am btw a sz 2 and 4 in lulu tops (most of the time). The turbo is soooo soft, and it seems a little long (as compared to the photo on the website). It fits me snug (not tight) around the upper back (where is luxtreme band is located). Now, when I say i'm btw a 2 and a 4, it's bc of my upper back. A sz 2 is too tight around my upper back (lats). I am not sure if I feel comfortable enough to run in it, and I am an A cup. I would rather run in a flow y or other lulu bra. But it is pretty, and the color is gorgeous.

Ok, ok, you gals have talked me into getting a manicure. I really don't get my nails done unless it's a special occasion or someone gets me a gift cert to a salon. But I do love getting my nails done; I use it as a way to "treat" myself. When I do get them done, I pick off the wall colors. I like dark browns, grays, oranges, etc. Weird?? But I LOVE red lipstick!

  5. Ooh, that red looks fabulous on you! I can't stand to have my toenails "naked" so they're always painted in some funky color. I'm like you in liking the weird colors, Kristin. I don't usually gravitate towards reds or pinks since I can't bring myself to be a girly girl. Crazy, I know. Instead I go for blues, greens, and the occasional purple. I have a fun dark, smoky blue polish that I bought in London when I was on vacation there three years ago and it's now gotten clumpy and unusable. I'm so sad. I think a return trip might be in order so I can buy more. :) My current fav is Essie's Smokin' Hot. I've found that their colors look different in the bottle than they do on my nails so always Google pics of their polishes before I buy to see what they really look like on. That one's a gorgeous deep purple. Absolutely perfect for the fall. I'm no good at being a girl so always struggle to paint my fingernails within the lines and then I'm too rough on them to make the polish last more than a week. I hate putting so much work and drying time into them just to have to redo it again so soon. But my toenails get done every two weeks since I keep wanting to see something new. All of this is DIY of course since I'm too cheap to pony up for a mani or pedi.

  6. Kristin, thanks for the Turbo review. Looks like we are about the same size. Most lulu tops are a 4 for me, but those without the bras are definitely a 2. I'm an A cup too. The Swiftly Racerback 4 is too big for me, however, the 4 in Swiftly short and long sleeves are fine. Go figure! Your review confirms that this new Turbo fits about the same way as the one from last year. It's too long and too roomy around the torso for me and the two vents/holes on the back gapes weirdly for me. On the other hand, I love the venting of the NLT and Practice Freely tank. Due to the blousy look of the two, the vents looks "natural" to me, design-wise. Oh well...some styles work, while others don't. It's the name of the game. :)

Sourkraut, I'm getting weaker by the minute for the dense purple slub denim WUC. The only thing that's stopping me from ordering is the quilt waistband. I just never warmed up to the quilts. I can honestly say that I've never owned a single quilted waistband in all the years that I've worn lulu, and that's almost 10 years! But who knows, there's always a first time.

I'm excited about the new Cashew/Black striped Wunder Unders. Hopefully it comes in the crops! :) And OT. I've just received my orders from WMTM. The RUN: In The Sun crop is super! I got the deep coal/ wee are from space deep coal april multi. Looked like a pseudo quilt on the waistband! See? I'm inching closer towards that dense purple slub denim! Also scored a Wunder Groove Crop in black/new blue/wee stripe black/static coal. Pleasantly surprised that it is made in Canada! Yay! Stitching is good and tight all over. Triangle gusset, but no CT and not sheer at all. I remembered that lots of peeps were upset because these new WGC are sheer to them. Am happy to report otherwise, at least for me. :) Reversible too!

And lastly...(I noticed that I always ramble on to a lenghty post here. Just feel comfortable, like talikng to my girlfriends!) Yay to us "crazy color toe painters"! Come on Min, how about some nice blue or purple?!!! ;P

  7. I'm kind of liking the calm SS tee. What do you think?
oh don't worry about being lengthy - I love reading your thoughts! -
oh and I might got purple!! lol

  8. Minda, I'm not sure about the calm SS tee. The back is a little "off" to me. Although, I like the gathered look. I am in love with lulu's burnout material. It is the softest ever! I haven't bought one though, not sure how it will hold-up. I remember you said one of your burnout tees didn't hold-up very well. So, I have since stayed away from them. I think they are a bit expensive for a tee. Aren't they around 58$? I cannot remember.
BTW, how are you guys holding up from Isaac? We are preparing but not really too worried. Although, once it hits the gulf, it seems to be difficult to give an exacted projected path. Hopefully it won't increase too much in strength. Fingers crossed! Stay safe and dry!
Yogibabe, I would love a pair of cashew/blk striped crops! Like you, I would rather have crops. Ooooo, you should get the denim purple. What don't you like about the quilted waist bands? I don't own a pair either. I feel limited when it comes to what you can wear w/ them. I really like the denim purple and the deep coal w/ the red denim quilt. But I have a hard time w/ what tops to wear w/ them. Sour, what will you wear w/ yours?? I won't get my purchases from last wk til Friday! Boooo. Like Sour, we wait forever before we get our orders! Ladies, have an AMAZING Sunday!

    1. Minda, I'm with Kristin in regards to the calm SS tee. I do like the back, the gathers look cute. It's the crop length that's hard for me to swallow. It reminded me of those half cut/cropped tees that I wore when I was in high school, a la flashdance. Yikes! (Yes, ladies...I am a lot older than you guys here.) This tee will be one of those "must try before buy" item. I do like my Good Karma Pullover, which has a similar crop body, but the overly wide scoop neck somewhat complimented the look. This tee has a "normal" crew neck and sleeves, so it trows off the look a bit. Hard to explain, but the overall look is off, for me. PLUS it will be most likely overpriced for a tee, as with all lulu's tees are, price wise. What's Sour's view on this?

Kristin, about the quilted waistband. I just don't like the look of it. Patchwork quilt on clothing is just not my thing. I love quilts, as on the bed! :) And I love the quilt stitching, like on the vest, (love my reversible Get Down Vest from last year. Dewberry/Black with sunburst/peacock feathers quilt stitching. Belted and all! Worth the money when compared to the new one this year.). I guess it won't matter as most of lulu's tanks are long enough to cover the quilt waistband, but I know that it's there! :P

I was thinking of both of you, with Isaac coming to your area. Hope everything will be fine. Yes, take care. Stay safe and dry.

    3. Hee hee! Thanks for your support, Kristin! What a feeling.... ;)

    4. Yeah, I'm not digging the Calm SS tee either, but then cropped tops never look good on me since they emphasize my big hips. I love gathering but haven't ever seen it like that before, right in the back. A little weird for me but I can see some girls pulling it off. Let us know if you give it a try, Minda.

Hmm, I don't really like quilted patterns either. I figure it'll mostly be hidden since it's on the waistband. I was planning to be boring and just pair the dense purple WUC with black, gray, or indigo if I'm feeling daring but now I'm wondering if angel blue might work if I really want to go bold. Looks like Caspian blue might be one of the colors on the band but I don't have any tops in that and they seem to have stopped coming out with anything new.

I needed a Lulu fix so went to my store today, ostensibly to return some stuff including the pricey Presence of Mind jacket but I also tried on some older items I'd had my eye on. The pedal power tights in deepest cranberry are adorable but wayyyy too long on me. I'm about average height at 5'6" but would have to hem and/or fold a lot to make them wearable. Which is lame because then I'd lose the cute accents at the bottom. I wasn't seriously considering buying them but wanted to see how they looked on. I was very tempted by the deep indigo denim WU pants since they have hints of purple but decided to wait until my bordeaux ones get here next week. I wonder if they'll come out with denim power purple WU pants. I'd rather have those than the crops. I hate that it's always a guessing game and a gamble with Lulu. I also tried the turbo tank, which was pretty much what I expected. I liked the back and the peek-a-boo vents but the front was just blah. Nothing special. Not bad, just not something I need.

Oh yeah, and their tee prices are absurd! I almost bought the My Mantra tee from WMTM last week and talked myself out of it because even the sale price of $54 seemed too much for a basic top. I'm glad I passed because I just tried it on in the store and was not impressed. Maybe if it were a cute color or something but it was just a plain old grey.

I did try on the angel blue CRB and wound up buying it even though I already have one on the way in the mail. Since it won't get here until Wednesday I got impatient. Except that once I got home and tried it on with my mirage bound bra I found you can see the mirage pattern clear as day through the CRB. I'm trying to decide if that's a big deal to me or not since I do love the angel blue color so much. I might leave the tags on and try out the 105F singlet that'll hopefully be released this week to see which one I like better.

    5. I wish they make the Pedal Power Tight in the deepest cranberry in crops, like last year's commuter's capsule. I love the Ride On Crop so much that my husband bought all three colors for me! Thank goodness too, since it did not make an encore appearance this year. I wore them all year long for our bike rides. :) The reflective ric-rac trim was much cuter with a vintage look. I would have snapped it in a heartbeat, in that pretty cranberry. Thanks for trying it out, Sourkraut. I didn't bother ordering it because I knew it will be way too long for me. And with the way the folded hem is, the cute accents would be lost on me for sure. I am only 5'4"!

  9. Sour, thx for the store update. I think it would be a pretty cool look to see the mirage bra underneath the angel blue crb. Why did you return the presence of mind jacket? Just curious. I also think it is overpriced. I love the look of the jacket/wrap on the website. I didn't order it......it's very difficult to order jackets in summertime weather in FL. I missed out on the caspian blue scuba bc I cannot buy jackets in summertime. My own fault. It's just a weird ritual I have; I think it saves me from spending too much. Hope you ladies had a great weekend.
Yogibabe, what a feeling,LOL! Take your passion & make it happen! Ha!

    1. I wanted to love the wrap so much that I was sad to have to return it. I agree the price is high but it is a thick, warm, quality fleece on the outside with a super cozy furry inside that I think justifies the cost. It's just that they went a little too far with the design. The two long "spikes" at the sides are ridiculously long and look severe when compared to the comfy draped look of the rest of it. If it were, oh, 1/3 of the price I would have taken my seam ripper and scissors to it to lop off those pieces to make it the jacket I wanted it to be. I loved the look when it was wrapped and snapped in place with a sort of cowl neck up top but the rest just looked goofy. I'm hoping they come out with some other items as the weather gets colder with that same fabric.

  10. Ladies, have you seen the angel define? I wonder how soft it is. It is a beauty. But I have such a hard time buying jackets in summer, esp in FL. I may cave for this one though. I have 2 defines, black and black swan. They are my fav jackets. I wear them to workout or for casual wear.

    1. Lulumum just posted a great pic of it with a link to the Australian site with lots more pics. I have to admit it looks like a real beauty. Since you know you'll wear it and your other two are kind of basic colors it'd be nice to have a fun colorful one. I say go for it but then the money's not coming out of my bank account. :) I've already gotten so much use out of my concord grape Define even though I bought it in July and it hasn't actually gotten cold here. But if the AC is cranked up even a tad bit too high I'll bust that puppy out. Any excuse to wear it!

    2. And Kristin, Lulumum said it is "buttery soft"! Let's hold hands and get it at the same time. :) I'm staying up late tonight, just in case it is uploaded!

  11. I saw that Define last week, while being nosy to see what everybody around the world get on upload day, on the OZ/NZ site. I have already made up my mind that I will buy it whenever it is uploaded on our site. :) I just love the color and Define jacket is the perfect weight for me here, on the Central Coast of CA, all year round! I'm sure you will get to use it in FL soon. Otherwise be like Sour, just crank up the AC! :)

  12. Minda, You are talking my language when it comes to nail polish. I was a professional manicurist for 27 years (my first "career") and know a thing or two about polishing nails. Funny when I clicked onto your blog I had just finished polishing my nails red! "Head Mistress" one of Essie's new reds came in a "mini collection" of four polishes. The other three are a deep burgundy, a crazy (skirting the issue), deep green/black (stylnomics), and a taupe/grey (don't sweater it).

Anyway, back to the red. I'm with you about finding a red that is deep enough and not orange and not too dark, not too bright, just freakin' red! I think this one is the closest I've come...and I've tried a lot of shades! And did someone mention Chanel polish? Love Chanel polish but for $25, it's kind of like Lulu! You fall in love with a color and then something better comes along! I've only owned three Chanel shades and I used the entire bottle because I loved the color so much. One of the colors was "Cosmic Blue" probably 10-12 years ago! Now you see blue polish all over, and it happens to be my favorite when nail color still.

    Here are a few professional tips (no pun intended);
#1 Always use basecoat. Not just a clear polish or God forbid a polish labeled base and top (no such thing). A true base coat had adhesive properties in it and will help your polish "stick". that's why you never use a base coat as a top coat. I recommend any of the Nail Tech, or Nailtique base coats. Expensive, but worth it.
#2 three coats of color. Yes, three! It seems like a drag but not to worry the top caot I recommend with help you polish dry quickly. Also make sure you or your nail tech coats the tips of your nails, preferably with base, color and top, but manicurists can be lazy sometimes.
#3 top coat. "Out the Door". Really inexpensive but you will not be able to use the whole bottle before it gets thick, but so what, it works!
#4 Always tip you manicurist well! Manicures are really not that expensive and if you want good service you gotta pay for it!

I don't own a dishwasher (never have), so I do all my dishes, housework, I cook all of my own foods/meals, and of course I workout/train, and my polish will last 1 full week, in fact I take off because I get sick of it, not because I have to!

Love short nails! Never any need to wear nails longer than you fingertips. I file mine down every time I change my polish 5-7 days.

I know...too much info, but I'm a big fan of pretty hands! (and feet of course! Try Essie's "Sand Tropez", my fav this whole summer...and no, I don't work for Essie! although I've met her bunches of times!)

    1. Tracy, thanks for the info. I'll have to check out the base coat and top coat brands you mentioned. That set of Essie polishes sounds great too. I always get in trouble when I go near the nail polish section, especially those Essie colors. They're all so tempting!

So what'd everybody get this upload? It worked out well for me that I went to bed before 9:00 last night with a migraine so woke up just after 5:00 AM this morning. I did my usual thing of putting everything that I liked in the cart, then almost fainted when I saw the total, and started removing items that I don't think I really need like the milky way/black NLT and the angel blue Hot Spell tank. I wound up with just two items. Well, technically three since one was the Hot Spell shorts in bordeaux but I ordered two sizes since I'm not sure which one will fit. Also broke down and ordered the Serenity sweater in bordeaux. I tell myself it'll have to be absolutely perfect in order for me to justify keeping it at that price.

Kristin and yogibabe, I hope you bought your lovely angel blue Defines! It's rainy today and I knew the AC would be up high at work so I'm wearing my purple Define right now.

    2. Morning all! I was so pleased that the angel blue Define and Free To Be bras were uploaded last night. Got both and and called in a night and tucked myself in bed...with "visions of Define and FTB (in angel blue, of course!)dancing in my head. :)

Strongly contemptplated the Serenity in bordeaux. Hesitated too long with the size, (about half an hour...)so I removed it from my cart. Don't have a store close by, returning is a hassle. I am almost positive I'm a 2 in this, due to the super drapey neck. Worried that a 4 will be too baggy. Back and forth I go. I'll wait for a fit review before I pull the trigger. Sour, if you get the chance to try it in the store, please let me know how the fit is. You are alwyas very detailed with your reviews, so I know that I'll be good to order it from your say so. It's always like this with me, when trying to decide on a "non technical" item from lulu. There are so many other "fashion" brands that do it much better than lulu, for the price, that I am extra fussy before ordering. It's all in head!

I passed on the WUC in the cashew tonka. The pictures all depicted it as being thin/sheer. I also have a pair of a very similar looking stripey one from perhaps two or three years ago. Wren and a "very, very light bordeaux". Nearly identical, at a glance. I am still hoping for the caspian and grey ziggies WUC, eventhough the hope is fading away as time goes by... May just have to hunt for the WU pant version and do the unthinkable, hem it to a crop!

    3. P/S: The Hot Spell shorts in bordeaux is yummy! I already have a couple of Boogie shorts and very rarely sport them. If the Hot Spell set were available early in summer, I would have been very tempted! I'll pass on these, for now. Let us know how you like the shorts, Sour.

I saw your photography work and I think they are awesome. :) Just participate and blow them all away! Would be nice to see your work on lulu blog. Just a suggestion for Sept 1, "Centre": Just give them a close up of the centre of your Peanut Butter Oreo cupcake! ;D

      Delete
    5. Ooh, thanks so much for pointing that out to me! I lost my photography mojo lately so this might be what I need to kickstart it. I think you're just angling for me to make another batch of those cupcakes and share them with you!

I haven't yet found a pair of Lulu shorts I absolutely truly love. The tighter ones like the Boogie and Grooves aren't 100% flattering on me with my pear-shaped figure. I would love for something exactly like the Boogie shorts but with a little give around the thighs at the bottom of the hem. I have shorts like that but they're starting to get worn out after about eight years of wearing them. So we'll see about these Hot Spell shorts. Fingers crossed.

So glad you got your Define! I read someone's review of the Serenity sweater saying it's a size down. Maybe even two sizes. I'm still balking at the price so even if the sweater fits and looks nice I'll have to reconsider if it's worth that expense. I'm so tempted to return it just to send Lulu a message that their price is too high but I doubt one little return like mine will really make a difference.

  13. Sour, you should enter your AMAZING photography on the lulu blog. To me, photography is such an amazing, creative talent. And you got it girl! Like yogibabe, I would love to see your photos on the blog too! Keep us posted!
Well, I didn't order anything. I know, I know....I should order the angel define. I'm waiting to see if my local showroom gets it (so I can use my 15% discount; I'm a group fitness instructor and CPT). Fingers crossed. But nothing else really appealed to me on this upload. I wish I had the booty to pull off the hot spell shorts; I have a runner's backside--flat as a pancake. Sour, let us know what you think of them! I like the idea of luxtreme "hot shorts" instead of luon. The burgundy shade is to die for. Love it. I am wavering on the milky way flow y. I am in need of another flow y, and that is the only one out right now. But it isn't a "have to have" print for me. Guess I'll wait and see what our local showroom gets. I missed out on the tonka stripe flare crb. GRRRR! I hope the showroom gets it. Lulu colors are all over the place right now, and I love it. There is pigment blue, split pea, bordeaux, lt pink, milky way print, flare, purple, etc.....So many choices, so little time! BTW, did you guys see that flash lt made it's way back into lulu's color scheme. On the upload, the naked seam speeds are now in flash lt. Weird? Looks a lot like lt. flare.

    1. Kristin, why don't you just get the Free To Be bra in angel blue. I love FTB more than Flow Y and support wise, they are very similar for us A cuppers. Plus the straps are waay cuter AND angel blue is so purdy!!! Convincing enough for you to join me as new owners of the angel FTB? One more point against the milky way Flow Y. Heaven forbid that you'll get one in the mail with white on one side and well...milky way (pun not intended!!! honest!!!) on the other. I am always hesitant to order random print like this from online. Like Forrest Gump said, the prints will be like a box of chocolates....
I know...I saw those flash light too....I just thought I missed it's upload and only now noticing it. But I seldom look at shorts, to begin with.

Minda, any of these new upload grab ya?

  14. Kristin, I second the vote to not buy the milky way print online since you could wind up with some funky print arrangement. Of course, you could always return it to your showroom if that happens but I ordered one and returned it because of that. I also don't like the print so much in person because what looks to be a white background in all of the pics I've seen is actually beige in person. Not as pretty IMO.

Well, girls, I got a few of the items I ordered last week a little early. I wasn't expecting deliveries until tomorrow and Friday but came home to a few packages today. Always a happy surprise. One was the Unity pullover in the whiteish color. Definite pass. I'd tried it on in black in the store and liked it but this one doesn't hang on me as well. Whew, one decision made!

The bordeaux WU pants are nice. I looooove the color. But, as others have reported, they are a little sheer. Like I'd have to wear a thong because even my lightest pair of undies can be seen when I bend over. The other strike against them is that I just bought a pair of skinny jeans from Target in the exact same color. Haven't taken the tags off yet since I wanted to compare but they rung up at $28 versus the WU price. Since I don't need the WUs for working out and would probably only wear them tucked into boots in the fall I think they'll be returned.

The good news is that means I don't have to feel guilty about keeping the dense purple reversible WUC. Now those are amazing! I am so happy they're reversible because I get the funky color on one side but then can flip them to black and pair them with my dense purple Scuba. Not at all sheer and no CT. I am a happy camper. Again, these will pretty much be worn as regular clothing tucked into my boots but they're long enough to get away with that. Now, if they come out with the same thing in pants next week I might be a little bummed.

Last item, I swear! I got my second angel blue CRB (I was impatient and bought one at my store over the weekend) and I swear the fabric seems different from the other one. Like a little thicker and slightly less silky. Same tank, same color, but different! Also something seems a little off about the fit, at least compared to the power purple CRB I have and love. I even laid them out to check and sure enough the angel blue's longer by about 3/4". Weird. It could be my imagination but it also seems to accentuate my less-than-perfect waist in ways the power purple doesn't. I think I've talked myself out of keeping it.

  15. Hi ladies.....We avoided Isaac. Whew. But we did prepare for a direct hit from the hurricane. We stocked up on water, filled up our gas tanks, and removed all lawn furniture or anything else that may fly away. Minda, did you guys get hit w/ lots of rain? We got tons of rain and wind Tues night but nothing too bad.

Yogibabe, I tried the FTB bra, and it doesn't fit me that well. I feel like the bra portion of the FTB is too narrow even though I am an A. And the back of the bra "rides-up" on me. I wanted to love it so badly. I adore the straps on it, and it is plenty of support for me. I even sized up to a 6, and it still didn't fit me properly. Oh well. It comes in such purdy colors too. The flow y feels a little bit more compressive to me, which I like. I agree that it isn't nearly as cute as the FTB.

Sour, I was thinking of you this morning bc Paula Deen (I love the FoodNetwork--my fav cook is Ina Garten) was making a turtle trifle. It looked soooo delicious. And I made lemon honey cookies yesterday. They weren't anything pretty to look at, but they are good. They came out a little cakey. They are somewhat dense. How do you fix that? I wanted more of a chewy, soft cookie texture. BTW, not surprised on the CRBs. Lulu's items are sooo mass produced. All of my CRBs fit differently even though they are the same size. Some are snug; while others are more forgiving. I think that Lulu should show the fabric content of each color of the CRBs. That would help me get an idea of the feel of the tank. But that wouldn't really help when 2 of the same color CRBs fit differently and feel differently.

I am sooo excited bc I ordered a pair of currant turbos this morning! Wooohoooo. Hope that I don't get an out of stock email. They made a ninja appearance this morning. Yippee. Still haven't gotten my order from last week. Yogibabe, you are lucky that you don't live on the east coast and have to wait 7 days for your order! I should get part of my order tomorrow. Then the rest will come Friday. I think I am going to return my turbo tank. It does pucker in the back. I don't know if I would get a ton of use out of it. I am going to try it on again today and make my decision.

I just have to say that the Lulu model on the website on the main page is insanely limber and strong. That pose is insane too! What pose is that? It makes me want to do yoga. I should be taking yoga classes. I am trying to find the time to do at least 1 class/wk. But I am at the gym soooo much teaching my own classes. Then when I'm not teaching, I am training for various distance races. Heck, my husband does some yoga. He is crazy limber and he's 6'2 185lbs! Genetics? I hope my daughter is limber like him when she gets older. But what's funny is that he has more back issues than me (I don't have any, thank goodness). Have an awesome Wednesday, hump day!!

    1. Kristin, glad Issac left you unscathed. Hopefully it's the same with Minda too. :) Here in Californa, I have earthquakes to deal with. Sheesh! Just a part of our lives!

I know, I am so lucky to have the shipments arriving pretty quickly. It's funny though... When lulu used to have a warehouse in CA, I will get my upload orders the next day. So, when they switched to just one warehouse in WA, we in CA were screaming, "Oooo, unfair! Now we will need one or two more days before we see our orders!" What a brat we were! Now we realised just how fortunate we are, to get it as quiclky as we did. Still, I'm sorry that you guys have to wait a whole week or so, for the goodies. :(

Sorry that the Free To Be bra didn't work out for you, Kristin. I have a few "smaller "A cup" friends that have similar issues as you, in regards to the FTB. But you know, Flow Y is a staple. I'm sure there will be more pretty colors coming soon. I will post tomorrow night, my review of the Define in angel blue. ETA is tomorrow. The Canadian site is almost sold out of all sizes in angel.

Sour, I am kinda glad that the Unity Pullover is a definite pass for you. That means the Serenity Sweater will have more chance! I think that the Serenity is a better sweater piece of the two. More sophisticated and flexible for style and wear. Plus, it is reversible. :) Let us know your review, if you get to try it out sooner at one of your stores, or when it finally arrives. I'm still interested in it. Just worried about the fit, if it is going to be a size down, or two item. Might not work for me at all. I also love my "true" reversible WU crops. They are thicker and very well made. But by being thicker, they are usually used in the winter months only. I think that the slub denim WU crop or pants are the way to go, if you are looking for a casualwear tights to wear with boots and sweaters. The fabric has a beautiful texture. The deep cranberry in the slub denim is yummy! Hope we'll see it in the WUC.

And finally, OMG! What a pose, huh Kristin? It is definitely a very photogenic yoga pose. I'm not quite sure what it is called in Sanskrit. It looks like a hybrid of Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow), and Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana (Upward Facing Two Foot Staff pose). Except that this pose is done with one foot-hence it will be called Eka Pada so and so.. (one foot...). I've never done this pose. I can do the same pose, one foot up in the air, but in regular upward bow (backbend). And I've done the same pose like this, but with both feet on the floor. This is so beautiful, definitely a "kodak moment"! But as my teachers always reminded us in classes, "It's never about the end result of a particular pose, it's the journey to get there is what matters the most." And to never get attached to your "achievements" in any poses. As it can easily be taken away from you. Be aware and mindful in everything you do. Remember the feeling. So that you will know how to recapture it back, when you need to. I am just so grateful every time I practise, regardless of how "deep" my practice is on a particular day. Some day it is sweet and excellent, some days my body is taking it's own sweet time. But it is always very gratifying on a deeper, non physical level. Love it! :)

  16. Oh and I forgot to say......I decided against the milky way flow y. Thanks for the feedback on the Lulu prints. I am not a huge fan of prints anyway unless it is stripes. Thx!

  17. I agree Kristin!! -The only print I liked at all was the inkblot! Everything else just doesn't really excite. - OH not much happened here with regards to the Issac Storm. Though all schools and even businesses closed down! - There was literally a 40 min blast of rain then nothing- then another blast of rain and hot wind. . . very hot hot gusty wind. then gone!
